About 57.10 per cent out of 63,522 students who appeared for the final year annual examinations of BA, BCom, BSc and BBA of Osmania University have cleared exams. The results were uploaded to www.osmaina.ac.in.
OU Vice-Chancellor Prof S Ramachandram on Thursday released the results of the first, second and final year annual examinations. Girls have outperformed boys in the results with a pass percentage of 66.05 per cent against boys’ 46.97 per cent. A total of 63,522 students appeared for final year examination, of which 36,273 have cleared.
The overall pass percentage has slightly come down to 57.10 from 57.23 in 2017. However, compared to pass percentage in 2013, it has increased from
42.87. Interestingly, only 37.65 per cent students passed BSc while the pass percentage was 53.14 last year.
In BA, the pass percentage was 68.27 while it was 64.21 per cent and 88.04 per cent in B Com and BBA respectively.Going year-wise, the pass percentage has increased from 44.04 in 2013 to 68.27 in 2018 in BA whereas, in BCom, it has surged from 48.92 in 2013 to 64.21 this year.
Speaking to presspersons on Thursday, Prof Ramachandram said the results were declared in just 36 days and 2,435 teachers were involved in evaluation process.“Girls outperforming boys in the results has become a trend now. In every result, girls are doing better than boys,” he said.
