New Delhi, November 11, 2014 Australia has chosen sixty Indian scholars for its prestigious Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships for 2015. Welcoming the announcement, Australian High Commissioner Patrick Suckling on Thursday said it was a testament to the talent of the Indian students. “I congratulate the successful recipients — Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships are highly competitive awards,” he said.
“The fact that 60 Indians were selected is a testament to the talents in this country.
It is pleasing to see that the number of Indian recipients have increased from 40 to 60 in 2014,” he said. The Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships support top students and faculty from around the world to use Australia’s research infrastructure, undertake professional development and collaborate with leading academics in their field.
This year, 528 such scholarships were offered to international students and another 154 to Australians — three of whom will travel to India next year for research.
