Recruitment test for Urdu officers Grade-I and Grade-II were held yesterday. Advisor to the Government on Minorities Welfare A. K. Khan announced this. He said the whole process of selection of candidates would be completed within two months.
Addressing the media, Khan said the State government sanctioned 66 special category posts of Urdu officers to cater to the linguistic needs of the local people in the administration. He said the examination for Urdu officers Grade-II were held in the morning at five centers in which 3,496 candidates appeared, while a total of 4,518 candidates had applied online. A total of 1,022 candidates were absent. In the Grade-II, 77% candidates appeared for the examination.
AK Khan said the process of recruitment has been entrusted to Telangana State Urdu Academy, which in
turn, with the technical support of the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, carried out the recruitment tests successfully.
Prof. S. A. Shukoor, Director/Secretary of Telangana State Urdu Academy was also present. He said Urdu officer Grade-I examination was held at Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering & Technology, Kukatpally, Nizampet Road, Bachupally, Hyderabad. The other four centers were Nizam College, Basheerbagh, Malla Reddy Institute of Engineering & Technology, Maisammaguda, Dhulapally Road, Secunderabad; VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering & Technology, Bachupally, Nizampet, and MLR Institute of Technology, Laxman Reddy Avenue, Gandimysamma Police Station Road, Dundigal under Quthbullapur Mandal of Medchal District.
