Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has made a big statement regarding the class 10 and 12 board exams. In an exclusive interview with news agency PTI, the Union Education Minister said, 'It will not be mandatory to appear in the 10th and 12th board exams twice a year.' He further said that it will be completely optional and its main objective is to reduce students' stress caused by the fear of a single opportunity.
He further said, "The Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE) is being restructured because its old version is too broad and the demands of
today's education system are different. At a time, when we are having a paradigm shift with the NEP, “CABE also needs to be revamped.” He said, "The objections raised by some states on the implementation of NEP are political, not academic. I am still unable to understand what they object to, West Bengal's alternative document is 99 per cent similar to the NEP."
On the incidents of student suicide in Kota, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that no one's precious life should be lost, "They are our children. It is our collective responsibility to keep the students stress-free."
