Joint Entrance Examination, JEE Main 2023 Session 2 exams will begin from tomorrow, April 6, 2023 onwards. Alongside the JEE Mains Exam, the Bombay High Court will also be hearing the plea to relax the 75 percent eligibility criteria for JEE aspirants and candidates tomorrow.

Bombay High Court Chief Justice SV Gangapurwala and Justice Sandeep V Marne heard the matter on March 1, 2023 and set the next date for April 6, 2023.

For the JEE Main Exam last year, NTA had removed the 75 percent criteria for candidates due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However for this year, National Testing Agency decided to relax the criteria for candidates. Based on

the new rules, students who have secured 75 percent marks or are in the top 20 percentile for their Class 12th Result can apply for the exam.

However, as per students and Advocate Anubha Sahai, the marks are not a true reflection of the students and their ability to clear the JEE Main Exam.

"The marks scored by them is not a true reflection of their actual ability therefore those students with less marks than the eligibility criteria (75%) for this year’s examinations can score very high marks in the upcoming JEE Main 2023, and if a fair chance is denied to them that will affect the future (of) lakhs of bright (students)," reads the petition.
