The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has wielded its authority by cancelling the registration of 26 schools in Bihar due to their failure to meet the board's prescribed standards for educational facilities. This action follows persistent neglect despite repeated directives from the CBSE's monitoring body, which had been closely scrutinising these institutions for several years.
These schools, including prominent names like Patna Muslim High School, AVN English School, and Doon Public School, amongst others scattered across various districts in Bihar, were found to be charging exorbitant fees—annual, monthly, and admission without corresponding adequate provisions and amenities for the enrolled students.
Sources familiar with the matter revealed that despite consistent reminders to enhance their facilities, these schools prioritized
financial gains over fulfilling the essential educational requirements. Consequently, the CBSE made the resolute decision to revoke their registrations.
The list of affected schools, prominently featured on the CBSE's website, includes, RD Public School in Hajipur, Takshila School in Muzaffarpur, Rise High Public School in Aurangabad, Arya Bal Shanti Niketan in Munger, and Ramashray Roy Public School in Darbhanga, IQRA Academy in Darbhanga among others.
The CBSE has advised parents against admitting their children into these rejected institutions in light of this cancellation. Furthermore, as a compassionate measure, approximately 7,000 students preparing for upcoming board examinations have been granted special consideration to proceed with their exams. However, any fresh registrations from these schools for the current academic session will be deemed invalid.
