The Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE, has recently introduced new skill subjects in class 9th and class 11th. As per the recommendations of NEP 2020, CBSE has been constantly taking initiatives for integrating 'Skill Education' in its affiliated schools.
At present, over 27 lakh students are presently studying skill subjects in classes IX-XII in nearly 22,000 CBSE-affiliated schools.
Here is the list of some of the initiatives taken by CBSE in recent times:
1. INTRODUCTION OF NEW SKILL MODULES:
CBSE has introduced skill modules for middle school. As per the notice, CBSE is offering 33 skill modules for middle school students. The skill modules are
of 12-15 hours duration.
2. INTRODUCTION OF NEW SKILL SUBJECTS
Currently, in total, 22 skill subjects in classes IX-X and 43 Skill subjects in classes XI-XII are being offered by the board.

ii. Physical Activity Trainer
iii. Land Transportation Associate
iv. Electronics & Hardware
