Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced crucial instructions for private students to appear in Class 12 board exams, 2025. Practical exams are to be held from February 15 to March 15, 2025 at the specified examination centres.
According to CBSE's examination bye-laws, practical exams will be conducted for some categories of private students:
From 2024, whose practical subject marks are not available due to absent, or repeated practicals (RP), or RB, both theory and practicals.
From 2023, whose practical subject marks are unavailable
From 2022 or before, who have registered for the full subjects under the private category with practical in any of their subjects
For subjects without a practical component, no project or internal assessment will be held. Instead, internal assessment marks will be proportionately calculated on the basis of student performance in the theoretical exam of 2025.
EXAMINATION CENTRES AND CONDUCT
. Practical exams will be held at the same examination centres as allocated for theory
exams
. External examiners will be nominated by the Regional Directors/Officers of CBSE
The internal examiners shall be selected by the centre superintendent from the school faculty. If there are no faculty members, teachers from nearby schools may be designated.
GUIDELINES FOR MARKING AND ANSWER BOOKS
. Only the practical answer books issued by CBSE must be used. All entries should be recorded properly by the examiners.
. The marks must be uploaded to the portal of CBSE on the day of practical exam after the verification of the marks by the internal and external examiners.
INSTRUCTIONS TO STUDENTS
. The candidates are required to:
. Report to the examination centre earmarked for him/her along with his/her mark sheet/result copy and 2025 admit card.
. Check up the date and time of the examination in advance
. Reach the examination centre in time.
Examination centres should draw subject-wise student lists and get in touch with CBSE for the appointment of external examiners.
