CBSE is set to implement National Curriculum Framework for Foundation Stage (NCF-FS 2022) from the academic year 2023-24 and has issued a notification including all the guidelines that would be sent out to all the heads of CBSE-affiliated schools.
The NCERT has developed the NCF-FS 2022 as per the mandate of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 to outline the competencies and learning outcomes, general principles, and approaches that should guide teaching and learning at the foundational
stage.
It serves as a guideline for schools and teachers to design and develop curricula, syllabi, and teaching materials that align with the national educational goals.
NEP 2020 directs to replace the 10+2 schooling system in India with a new 5+3+3+4 system.
Now, the new structure of five-year education at foundational stage (from Nursery to Class 2) will be introduced in the session 2023-24 in those CBSE schools which offer education at foundational stage to students in the age group of 3-8 years.
