Tamil Nadu colleges and universities have been allowed to reopen for undergraduate and postgraduate classes from February 8 and they will be open six days a week to cover the syllabus for the academic year 2020-21.
Since educational institutes have been closed since March 2020, teachers and students are
struggling to cover the syllabus with physical classes even though online classes had been continuing.
On January 19, Tamil Nadu schools reopened for classes 10 and 12 in the first phase. The schools were permitted to hold classes with not more than 25 students per class, with the students split into batches if necessary.
