The National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET UG), formerly known as All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT), is India's top medical examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The NEET UG exam is conducted once a year by NTA for admission to Indian medical and dental colleges offering MBBS, BDS, Ayush & Nursing programmes. The exam is conducted in Pen & paper (offline) mode in 13 different languages and consists of 720 marks.

The duration of completing the exam is three (03) hours and 20 minutes. There are a total of 200 questions in the NEET UG exam and candidates have to attempt 180.

The NEET 2025 exam paper is divided into three sections — Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology). The first step towards appearing in the NEET UG examination is the registration process which generally starts in the first week of February. NTA opens the application window for 1 month.

The registration process involves steps like self-registration, filling out the online application form with accurate personal and academic details, uploading necessary documents such as photographs, certificates, and signatures, and paying the application fee.

of Information Bulletin: The Information Bulletin contains all the registration dates & application process details about NEET and is expected to be released by the NTA in the last week of January 2025.

Commencement of online registration: Candidates can start filling out the NEET UG 2025 application form online at the beginning of February 2025.

Last date for registration: The tentative deadline for submitting the NEET UG 2025 application form is March 2025.

Correction window: After the registration window closes, the NTA provides candidates the opportunity to correct their applications for three to four days. This facility is generally available after two days of registration, and for the NEET 2025 session, it will be available in the second week of March 2025.

NEET UG 2025 examination date: The NEET UG 2025 examination will be conducted tentatively in the first week of May 2025.

The NEET UG eligibility criteria include educational, age criteria & other such mandatory requirements that should be met by the candidates seeking admission into the UG medical programmes.

Application forms will be rejected for those who submit them but are later determined to be ineligible, as well as for those who do not submit them within the registration period.
