Bengaluru schools will remain closed till January 31 for classes 1 to 9 due to the ongoing surge in the Covid-19 cases across the state, said the Karnataka government on Wednesday. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday announced the Karanataka school closure news virtually.
The Chief Minister of Karnataka himself tested Covid-19 positive.
"We have
decided that barring 10th and 12th classes, schools will be shut for rest of the classes in Bengaluru," Karnataka Revenue Minister R Ashoka had said.
Karnataka schools across the state have not been closed completely. The authorities have given the decision into the hands of local authorities whether to shut the schools or not based on the ground reality of a particular district.
