Due to the rising Covid-19 cases and the surge of Omicron infections, the Maharashtra government has decided to discontinue physical classes in colleges and universities till February 15. The decision will apply to all state, deemed, private universities as well as technical Institutes and affiliated colleges.

Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant said that senior colleges or degree colleges in Maharashtra will remain closed till February 15 and all



exams in the said institutions will need to be conducted online till that date. Hostels will also be shut till February 15.

The state government had reopened colleges on October 13, 2021. Fully vaccinated students were allowed to attend offline college.

Now, the elementary and intermediate drawing exams of Class 10 will be conducted online.

Teaching and non-teaching college staff will work with 50% attendance with rotational shifts.
