As the Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled to take place on February 5, 2025, parents and students have raised queries about the working status of educational institutions. The Delhi government has declared a holiday for all central government offices in an attempt to ensure that the polling process is conducted without any inconvenience.
The schools and colleges in the national capital will be closed on election day, considering the central government offices will also be shut down. The results of the election, which is
scheduled to be held in a single phase, are to be declared on February 8, 2025.
Apart from the blanket closure of schools and colleges, some institutions that are being used as polling stations will also be closed on the eve of the election, as is customary. For example, Jamia Millia Islamia has declared a two-day holiday for its Middle School. Students and staff will be off on February 4 and 5.
The school premises will be handed over to the election authorities to allow the necessary polling arrangements.
