Several members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) have started protesting on Thursday, demanding the reopening of Delhi University college campuses and resumption of offline classes after nearly a year of closure of the varsity.
Several demands were put forward by the ABVP students who were protesting for the reopening of colleges. These students also said that Delhi University should give them the liberty to choose between online and offline lessons for the convenience of each
student.
Some other demands put forward were reopening of all libraries for a period of at least 12 hours every day, and reopening of all undergraduate and postgraduate hostels along with the prompt release of centralised PG hostel admission forms.
A delegation of ABVP office-bearers called on the proctor and the dean, students’ welfare, and presented a memorandum of grievances. Delhi University has been closed since March 2020 in view of the rapid spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
