On Monday, President Droupadi Murmu urged kids to dream big and for a modern, developed India. The President advised the kids, who had gathered at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre (RBCC), to maintain ties to Indian culture, respect their parents, and cherish their country. Childhood is the most lovely stage of life, said President Murmu.
"Children are accepted as they are. This is what makes them so alive. Today we are celebrating this innocence and purity of children," she said.
Every new generation, according to the President, opens up fresh opportunities and aspirations.
"This is a new era of technological and information revolution. Children are now aware about various domestic, social and environmental issues. With the advent of technology, knowledge and information are now at their fingertips," she said.
"So, it is
all the more important that we make more efforts to teach them the right values and involve them in various activities and discussions. We can also learn a lot from children," Murmu said.
The President encouraged kids to dream large and of a modern, developed India, adding that dreams of the present day can come true in the future.
According to a statement released by the Rashtrapati Bhavan, President Murmu asked them to consider the kind of India they want to live in when they are adults.
She pushed them to follow the right path and do what was right without worrying about the outcome because doing so will eventually lead to a tremendous achievement.
The President exhorted them to never lose touch with their inner child even as they mature, saying that the direction they take today will decide India's journey in the days ahead.
