Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal attended the meeting of the executive committee of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) yesterday, February 25, and announced that students of classes 6 to 12 will be given free textbooks under some new policies.
In yesterday’s meeting, the NVS discussed several issues and policies regarding education in this samitis. Apart from the Ramesh Pokhriyal, Minister of State for Education Sanjay Dhotre also attended the meeting
yesterday.
In the meeting, several topics were discussed such as providing students of classes 6 to 12 with free textbooks, free tablets for students in class 9 onwards, and ways to mobilise CSR funds to improve hostels and schools.
During the 40th meeting of the executive committee, it was also decided by the entire panel that alumni of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti will be “requested” to adopt schools in order to make the flow of education more systematic and proper.
