EFLU gets new Vice Chancellor

After over a year, English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) has finally got the regular Vice Chancellor with the appointment of Prof Nagalapalli Nagaraju.

In her capacity as the Visitor of the EFLU, President Droupadi Murmu appointed Prof Nagaraju, Vice Chancellor, Gangadhar Meher University, Odisha, as the Vice Chancellor of the EFLU for a period of five years.

Prof Nagaraju who hails from Chatrapur in Gajapati district of South Odisha has a rich background in English literature and has held various significant positions in academia. He has more than 37 years of teaching, research and administrative



experience.

Earlier, he served as English professor at Central University of Karnataka (parent organisation) and Rajiv Gandhi Central University, Arunachal Pradesh. He has also worked as academic adviser at Adikavi Nannaya University, Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, and visiting faculty with Sri Satya Sai University, Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh.

So far, EFLU has been operating with in-charge VC after former VC Prof E Suresh Kumar demitted office on December 31, 2023. Surabhi Bharati, senior most Professor, who was appointed as the acting VC superannuated in August 2024. Following her tenure, another senior Professor Haribandi Lakshmi was given charge as the acting VC.
