The English and Foreign Languages University has decided to offer Japanese language course to engineering students besides hiring foreign faculty for teaching on the campus. With Japanese companies setting up their business in the State and searching for local talent, there is demand for students especially from the engineering background with command on Japanese language. Given the demand, EFLU has come up with tailored made Japanese language course for engineering students who are in third and fourth
year, at a nominal charge.
A proposal to Osmania University on teaching the language to students of University College of Engineering and University College of Technology has also been made. Prof. E Suresh Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, EFLU said there is a lot demand for the engineering students with good skills in Japanese language. “Annual pay package will have a chance of going up considerably for those knowing Japanese language,” he said.
