The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) in conjunction with the Election Commission (EC) and the Ministry of Education has embarked on a noble initiative aimed at eliminating voter apathy, especially among the youth.

The partners signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) set to introduce electoral literacy in educational institutions across the nation.

The MoU outlined plans to incorporate voter awareness into the national curriculum. It will be integrated starting from Classes 6

through to 12 in all schools, eventually extending its reach to colleges and universities.

This revised content will likely encourage increased participation in the democratic process.

A statement from the Ministry of Education explained that students "will soon learn about their future role and duties as voters in the election process."

This innovative approach is geared towards cultivating a generation of responsible and informed voters who grasp the importance of participating in elections.
