Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, today at 11 am unveiled the Interim Budget, providing a glimpse into the government's strategies for the remaining term. People in education are looking forward to seeing what the Finance Ministry has in store for the sector.

In her Budget speech, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled a proactive government initiative aimed at establishing additional medical colleges by leveraging the existing hospital infrastructure across various departments. Emphasising the importance of this plan, she revealed the formation of a dedicated committee tasked



with scrutinising related issues and providing pertinent recommendations.

Also, around 1.4 crore youth have been trained under the Skill India Mission and 3000 new ITIs have been established, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said during the Interim Budget 2024 speech. Several new IITs and IIMs too have been set up.

“The Skill India Mission has trained 1.4 crore youth, upskilled and re-skilled 54 lakh youth, and established 3000 new ITIs. Many institutional higher learning, namely 7 IITs, 16 IIITs, 7 IIMs, 15 AIIMS and 390 Universities have been set up,” she said.
