The second edition of Classes Internationales has been launched by the French Embassy in India and Campus France, part of the initiative to increase the strength of students in France. It was first announced by French President Emmanuel Macron during his visit to Jaipur in January 2024. Under the vision of the French government, Macron set a goal of bringing 30,000 Indian students to France by 2030.

The programme offers Indian students a

pathway to French higher education by providing them with a foundational year of French language training and academic preparation. It is open to both beginners and advanced learners, allowing them to join French-taught undergraduate programmes after completing the preparatory course.

French Ambassador to India, Thierry Mathou, said the initiative is strengthening educational ties between the two countries and promoting cultural exchange.
