Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan highlighted the government's aim to reduce students' dependency on coaching centres and adopt a holistic approach to school education. Speaking at Agenda Aajtak 'Shiksha ki Pariksha', the education minister discussed major changes in the education sector, like the globalisation of education, normalisation, and the multilingual approach in universities.
Another key goal is to phase out the coaching culture which has long dominated Indian education. “We aim to eradicate coaching dependency by introducing AI-driven learning systems, like the one at IIT Kanpur, to
help students prepare for exams with interactive methods," says the education minister.
Pradhan also acknowledged the complexities involved in conducting competitive exams and emerging trends. In the past decade, India’s education system has undergone major changes that are marked by a strong push for internationalisation and new educational reforms.
"In the past six months, the education department has faced numerous challenges. As we mark the fifth year of the National Education Policy 2020, our greatest responsibility is to implement it nationwide—a significant and complex task."
