Government to set up 72 new residential schools: Kadiyam Srihari

Kadiyam Srihari, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Education promised to set up 72 new residential schools across 31 districts in the State in the next one year.

While inaugurating the newly constructed additional hostel and dining hall building at Telangana Residential School at Beechupally in Itikyala mandal in Gadwal district, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the State government was highest priority to provide best quality education in the government schools across the State.

During the past 3 years, the State government had released an amount of Rs 116 crore to residential schools in the State. He also promised to release another Rs 124 crores by next year to further improve the facilities in the government residential schools across the State.

The Education Minister also promised to upgrade Beechupally residential school from 5-12 standard and accordingly he also promised to fill the faculty posts and further provide infrastructure facilities to the residential school from next year onwards.  “Government had spent Rs 2.95 crore for the construction of additional hostel and dining hall building at Residential School in Beechupally. We will further upgrade this school from current 5-10 class to 12 (intermediate



standard),” said the Minister.

Referring to new teacher’s recruitments in government residential schools across the State, Kadiyam Sri Hari said that the government had already released notification for filling up of 387 new teachers post. However, as the recruitment process is still in the progress very soon. The residential schools will get new faculty filling up all vacancies in the State, he informed. 

He also promised to set up additional 72 new residential schools across the State and the proposals have already been sent to the government. If this is implemented, then every district will have two government residential schools one for boys and one for girls. Later, Jupally Krishna Rao, Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development advised the students to study well with interest and realise the dreams of their parents.

He said the government will go to any length to   provide best quality education to the poor students in the State and will leave no stone unturned to ensure all the facilities are available for the residential students. “Students must utilise the facilities provided by the government and lay a strong educational foundation for their future,” said Jupally.
