The Rajya Sabha was informed on Wednesday that there was a total of 84,866 open positions in six Central Armed Police Forces, including the CRPF and BSF, out of a sanctioned strength of 10,05,520.
Nityanand Rai, the Union's State Minister for Home, reported that 31,785 new members of the CAPF had been hired over the previous five months.
According to him, the CAPF positions become vacant due to retirements, resignations, promotions, deaths, the
establishment of new battalions, the creation of new positions, etc.
In response to a written query, he stated that as of January 1, 2023, there were 29,283 openings in the CRPF, 19,987 in the BSF, 19,475 in the CISF, 8,273 in the SSB, 4,142 in the ITBP, and 3,706 in the Assam Rifles.
According to Rai, the Central Armed Police Forces has 247 open positions for doctors and 2,354 open positions for nurses and other medical professionals as of January 1, 2023.
