Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar unveiled the 'Chatra Parivahan Suraksha' scheme on Sunday, a stride towards making education accessible to an extensive section of the state's rural population.
This landmark programme aims to provide free transportation for school students dwelling in several villages of Haryana.
Khattar divulged this initiative during the 'Jan Samvad' event at Ratangarh village in Karnal district.
He
shared that the scheme is specifically designed to cater to villages where the student count attending distant schools exceeds 30.
"The transport department will provide bus services to villages with more than 50 students. And for those having 30 to 40 such students, we would deploy minibuses," explained Khattar.
In villages where fewer students (between five and ten) travel to remote schools, the education department will ensure necessary transportation support.
