Haryana School Education Board, Bhiwani, has decided to implement the three-language formula in classes 9th and 10th in all affiliated government and non-government schools. This decision will be applicable in class 9th from the academic session 2025-26 and in class 10th from 2026-27.

Board Chairman Prof. (Dr.) Pawan Kumar told a press conference at Bhiwani yesterday that under the National Education Policy-2020, now students of classes 9 and 10 will have to study seven subjects, including six compulsory and one optional subject. He further



informed that for all the students studying in class IX, it will be necessary to select any one language from Sanskrit, Urdu or Punjabi as a compulsory third language in addition to the two languages Hindi and English.

From the next academic session, 2026-27, students of class 10th will also have to study an additional compulsory subject, he added. He informed us that the Education Board has also issued an official letter in this regard to all the District Education Officers of the state.
