IGNOU appoints Prof Uma Kanjilal as acting vice chancellor

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) today appointed professor Uma Kanjilal as the acting vice chancellor following professor Nageshwar Rao’s term completion. Professor Kanjilal had earlier served as the pro-vice chancellor of the University.

Kanjilal began her career as a research assistant at IIT Kanpur in 1984. She has since held various positions, including cataloguer and professional assistant at IGNCA, and rose through the academic ranks at IGNOU from lecturer to professor, a position she has held since 2003.
