The Union Cabinet has decided to grant its approval to the National Education Policy 2020 today i.e. July 29, and the new policy will bring about new changes in the employment and education scenario in the country. As the NEP gets its approval today, India is set to get a new educational policy after nearly 34 years.
There are a lot of changes that are to be implemented under the NEP 2020. It is expected that the MHRD will be renamed, multi-disciplinary education will be promoted and more foreign players will be involved in
the Indian education sector.
As per several media reports, the National Education Policy 2020 has been approved by the Union Cabinet and the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) will now be renamed as the Ministry of Education.
As per the HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal, the NEP 2020 will most likely resolve a lot of educational issues in the country and will help students seek higher education in foreign countries more easily. More details about the policy will be revealed later in the evening.
