The Telangana board of Intermediate Education has decided to collect a fee from students to change their medium or group. To change the group, a student has to pay Rs.700 and Rs.500 for a change in medium.

This , however, did not go down well with students and college managements. They claimed the board has lately become a ‘collection agent’ and is only fixated on making

money.

“Every year many students change their branch or medium after the first couple of months. Students generally like to attend classes for a few days before narrowing down to a branch. Asking them to pay to slide from a branch or medium is bizarre and the board should rethink its decision,” said G Satish, honourary president, Telangana Private Intermediate Colleges Association.
