Prof Afshar Alam emphasized the theme of the webinar highlighting the importance of digital transformation. “Covid-19 has forced us to think and re-think about the scope of higher education in new normal. Although, we are constantly introducing technological innovation in teaching-learning we have to update the modules of pedagogy, however, few questions need to be addressed further, such as, digital divide and challenges, and
some other issues related to reaching the other stakeholders in higher education and achieving the ultimate objective, he was quoted saying.
Digital transformation has shifted from being a strategic priority that maybe wasn’t implemented or wasn’t implemented to its fullest extent, to being a necessity. We have started a bilateral International Webinar series where there will be exchange of ideas, knowledge and technology transfer; he adds. Consequently, it has become necessary for the higher education institutes to conduct discussion/webinar where representatives from different stakeholders can analyse the present situation, share the best practices, and draw guidelines for the future befitting their socio-economic demography.
The inaugural address was followed by the lectures from the invited speakers. The webinar was graced by the presence of participants from different countries including India, Egypt, Jordan, and Algeria.
