Jamia Millia Islamia has issued a notice, putting the odd semester or year end exams on hold. This suppresses the last notice issued on December 7 regarding conducting the exams in the ‘online proctored mode’.
The Vice-Chancellor of Jamia put the exam on hold since several students have come forward to raise issues with the ‘online proctored examination’. Here are the reasons put forward by the varsity:
1. The university has received several representations form the students regarding their problems or issues with an ‘online proctored examination’.
2. The university has apprised the University Grants
Commission (UGC) of the concerns of the students and the decision of the university regarding mode of conduct of examinations. The directions or guidelines from the UGC on the matter are sought and still awaited.
3. The university shall take its decision regarding the mode of conduct of examination in consonance with the directions or guidelines received from the UGC on the matter.
Students have been asked to relax and continue with their ongoing online classes and exam preparation. They can keep checking the official website of Jamia Millia Islamia www.jmicoe.in for further updates.
