Jammu schools reopen for primary and junior classes with several Covid-19 guidelines

The schools in the Jammu division have been reopened for students of classes up to 8 on Monday, February 8, with several Covid-19 guidelines. The decision to reopen schools for these classes came a week after the schools were reopened for students of classes 9 to 12.

The spokesperson said that the schools in the Jammu division, along with the rest of the country, have been shut down since March 2020 in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, and now are being reopened for the first time in the area.

In an effort to raise morale and motivation, the students who were going to school for physical classes for the first time in almost 11 months were welcomed with flowers, balloons, sweets, and chocolates by the teacher and staff



members.

Jammu School Education Director Anuradha Gupta congratulated all the stakeholders, including students, their parents, and staff members, for the reopening up of schools and also cautioned everyone to follow all the safety measures properly.

The schools in the Jammu division are following several Covid-19 safety guidelines to ensure that the students and the staff members are safe inside school premises. Strict social distancing norms are also being followed in schools.

All students and staff members must wear a mask at all times and wash their hands regularly. Thermal checks are being conducted at entry points of the school and seating arrangements of classrooms have been changed to prevent overcrowding.
