The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) has been postponed from May 19 to May 27 in view of the Lok Sabha elections, a meeting of the examining committee decided on Tuesday.
In view of the clash in the dates of JEE (Advanced) 2019 and the last phase of general elections 2019, the examination date of JEE (Advanced) has been shifted to May 27 (Monday). The examination will be held in India and abroad on May 27 in the following two shifts: Paper 1 (09.00 to 12.00 IST) and Paper 2 (14.00 to 17.00 IST),” read an official update posted on the JEE (Advanced) 2019
website.
The postponement comes days after changes were made to the JEE (Main) Phase 2 exams scheduled for April. According to officials, the dates were clashing in 18 cities and seven states. The JEE (Advanced) exam date was changed keeping in view the seventh phase of the LS polls.
There will be no delay in declaration of the results, which will be released by mid-June. Meanwhile, admit cards for Phase 2 of the JEE (Main), to be held from April 7-12, will be released on Wednesday.
