In a tribute to the valiant heroes of Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), the Union Territory Administration has announced 17 schools and a road named after the JKP martyrs.
Out of the total 30 schools rechristened, the aforementioned figure honors these brave souls who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of their nation.
In various districts across J&K, 17 government schools have now been renamed in honor of the JKP martyrs.
Those who have been paid this unique tribute include several key figures such as Abdul Aziz Dar, Chand Mohammad Khan, Amanullah Khan, Amir
Hussain Lone, Ghulam Mohiudin, Gulzar Ahmad Shah, Kafeel Ahmad Mir, Abdul Rashid Malik, Mohammad Yaqoob Shah, Abdul Khaliq Bhat, Gh. Mohidin Sheikh, Rashid Shah, Mohammad Ashraf Dar, Feroz Ahmad Dar, Mohd Mushtaq Malik, Kuldeep Kumar, and Mohan Lal Sharma.
Following the announcement, J&K Director General of Police Dilbag Singh expressed his gratitude towards the Government of India, and Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha for this initiative.
The DGP marked this initiative as a tribute to the nation's brave hearts. "Naming the educational institutes after the martyrs is a befitting tribute to JKP martyrs," he said.
