The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad (JNTU-H) has decided to reconduct Telangana State Engineering Common Entrance Test. (TS-ECET)
The decision comes in the wake of technical glitches that impacted the smooth conduct of ECET examinations that were held on May 6. The incident also triggered widespread protests from students and parents who demanded that the authorities re-conduct the ECET examinations.
Following the vociferous protests, the administration of JNTU-H swung into action and took representations from candidates.The University said it has received representations from about 130 candidates stating that they faced problems with regard to question paper and response in answer sheets.
The committee which was constituted to look into the representations from the students recommended the university to go for re-examination for only candidates who gave
representations, said Prof. A Govardhan, Convener, ECET.
A total of 25,139 candidates had registered out of which 24,458 appeared for the test and 22,450 students had managed to qualify the test.Candidates can download examination application forms from website www.ecet.tsche.ac.in.
Filled-in application forms can either be submitted at the office of the Convener, TS ECET-2017, College of Engineering Hyderabad, JNTU-H or scanned copy of the duly signed filled-in application be mailed to tsecet2017@jntuh.ac.in. Application forms will not be accepted by courier or post, the convener said.
The last date for submission of filled-in applications either by hand or through e-mail is May 30. The re-exam will be conducted on June 4 from 10 am to 1 pm at JNTU-H College of Engineering Hyderabad. More details can be had from the website www.ecet.tsche.ac.in.
