The administration of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has allowed the reopening of certain parts of the college campus on Friday, March 12. As per the notice, the authorities have allowed the reopening of the food court and the reading rooms in the central library.
The university has approved the reopening of the ground floor reading rooms inside the Dr BR Ambedkar Central Library and the food courts including Mugal Darbar and 24X7 Food Court inside the campus with immediate effect.
The university authorities stated, “JNU administration is making sincere and efficient efforts to ensure safety and security of the students, staff faculty
in the testing times of Covid-19. Please read the latest notification by JNU administration to know about the reopening of campus in a phased manner.”
The university administration had allowed all final-year MPhil students who require access to the university to submit their dissertation from March 8. The reopening of the campus is taking place after many students started protest due to the loss of the academic year.
As per the notice issued by JNU, entry of vehicles to the campus with JNU stickers through the Saraswati Puram and East Gates has been allowed. The services of the Central Dispatch will also be made fully operational, it added.
