Jawaharlal Nehru University has issued a fresh set of Covid-19 safety guidelines for students and faculty in light of the recent spike in Covid-19 cases. Heads have been told to have staggered class timings and students have been advised not to come out of hostels unless necessary.
Moreover, all students or visitors from Maharashtra must have a negative RT-PCR report -- not older than 72 hours -- or have to go in mandatory 14-day
quarantine.
The order dated April 11 will be in immediate effect till April 30 or till further orders, stated the JNU notice.
The new JNU guidelines calls for a strict vigil to be kept on areas where students and/or staff are mingling.
Students have to wear masks and maintain social distancing in public places, libraries, laboratories, markets and hostels so that the strict enforcement of Covid-19 guidelines is effective.
