The Karnataka government on Friday decided to reopen engineering, diploma and degree colleges that were shut for students due to the COVID-19 pandemic from November 17.
"In a meeting that took place under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister it was decided to reopen degree college from November 17. Engineering, diploma and degree colleges will all start," Deputy Chief Minister C N Ashwath Narayan said.
Addressing journalists after the gathering, he said understudies will have a choice to either go to the classes genuinely or on the web or can go in for mixed learning by utilizing the two alternatives.
"Understudies can enroll on the web, those understudies needing to go to classes by coming
to schools ought to have assent from their folks. Contingent upon the quality how the classes must be held, in the number of groups all that will be chosen alongside all the essential security SOPs," he included.
Narayan, who is additionally the incharge for Higher Education Department said for understudies who will remain at SC/ST, social government assistance and OBC lodgings all vital security estimates will be taken, likewise vital vehicle game plans will be made to encourage smooth direct of classes.
Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa chaired the meeting of officials from health, social welfare, backward class, finance, transport and education departments, along with Narayan regarding starting classes in degree colleges.
