The vice chancellors of universities in Karnataka have been requested by the Karnataka government to consider postponing the semester examinations of degree courses by a month in view of the third Covid-19 wave.

Department of Higher Education Additional Chief Secretary G Kumar Naik said in a press release on Wednesday that the Vice Chancellors of all universities have been requested to take a decision on deferring the examinations in view of the incomplete



syllabus.

He further informed that the portions remained incomplete as physical classes had to be suspended considering the third Covid-19 wave.

In a statement, Additional Chief Secretary G Kumar Naik said,"Some of the universities had already announced the schedule of semester examinations but the Commissioner of Department of Collegiate and Technical Education (DCTE) had written a letter asking to postpone the examinations by a month in order to enable students to better prepare."
