Classes one to nine will have online classes, starting from January 21. After two weeks of online classes, a meeting will be held to decide on a possible extension. The decision was made at a high-level meeting presided over by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
Several other decisions were also made at the meeting to curb the spread of Covid. If clusters form in educational institutions, the headmasters or principals will be given
authority to shut down the school for a few weeks.
The CM has asked district collectors to identify Covid clusters and issue restrictions. In government offices, pregnant women can get work from home. Government, aided, public sector and cooperative sector institutions should do all official events online.
He also urged the education and health departments to deliver vaccines to schools for students in classes 10,11 and 12.
