Amid he nationwide lockdown in India to contain the spread of covid-19 has been extended till May 3, 2020 due to the rapid increase in the number of positive cases. All educational institutes including schools, colleges and coaching centres will remain closed, for the safety of students as well as the general public.

Educational institutes were immediately shut down when the initial 21-day lockdown was announced on March 25, 2020. Most of the colleges had scheduled their mid- semester breaks to accommodate the lockdown, but after the extension was announces, the academic calendar of educational

institutes is yet to be rescheduled.

While all board examinations and entrance examinations have been postponed, students of Class 1 to 9 will be promoted to their higher grade without holding examinations in most states. Colleges have also deferred their new session due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Many educational institutes are harnessing the nation’s digital development and utilising online platforms to hold classes and examinations in this lockdown. This is being done so that the students remain motivated and engaged, and don’t suffer academically during this lockdown.
