The School Education Department of Maharashtra has decided to commence the academic year in Maharashtra school from June 15, 2020, onwards. However, the classes would be conducted online by the schools. The decision has been taken so as to not cause any further delay in the academic loss and to minimize the educational loss of the students during the coronavirus outbreak and the subsequent Pan-India Lockdown.
Education Commissioner Vishal Solanki while speaking to ABP said that he will reach out to a maximum of 15 students and start their studies digitally. “We are starting the
academic year from June 15. We will try to reach out to children digitally and study them. Transportation of textbooks is permitted. Therefore, we are trying to distribute as many textbooks as possible before June 15.”
The starting of the digital academic year would mean that students can start with their studies from June 15, 2020.
Meanwhile, MHA has not decided the date on the opening of schools, colleges, and educational institutions across India. Further, the ministry has also tweeted regarding the fuss going around about re-opening of schools among students.
