Medical Education Minister Amit Deshmukh has directed medical colleges to provide the certificate to practice to all MBBS final year students who have completed their education in 2019 and the compulsory internship till February 2020.

The graduation certificate will only be provided on an urgent basis to make it possible for the students to join the workforce of medical professionals during this Covid-19 crisis.

All the candidates who receive the graduation certificate would be considered qualified doctors and will be



eligible to practice.

This initiative is taken by the Maharashtra government to help control the current situation of Covid-19.

The state education minister also announced honorariums for private doctors and nurses to encourage them to join in the fight against coronavirus in the state.

All the doctors, nurses, and medical personnel who wish to join will be awarded honorariums by the government -- 80,000 will be awarded to doctors, 30,000 to nurses and 2 lakh to specialists like intensive care specialists.
