Maharashtra Education Minister has recently revealed that the government has issued an order to all the schools in the state, asking them not to demand any fees from students during till the time the covid-19 lockdown period is over i.e. May 3, 2020. This was done because after the lockdown extension was announced, schools had started demanding fees from students.
The state education minister Varsha Gaikwad has also
informed students that they can report the school to the District Education Officer in the primary or secondary office if the school is forcing them to pay the fees for the lockdown period.
Before the lockdown was extended, the state’s education department had issued a notice which asked schools not to collect the fees during the lockdown period and to resume the admission process as soon as the restrictions are lifted.
