Manipur schools, colleges closed due to curfew

Amid the ongoing violence in Manipur, the secretariat Higher and Technical Education Department has asked all educational institutions including schools, colleges, and state universities to discontinue classes in Imphal West and Imphal East. 

According to the orders, all educational institutions will remain closed till Tuesday. The decision has been taken in consultation with the Home Department, Government of



Manipur.

The official order reads, ''In view of the curfew imposed by District Magistrate in many of the Districts and considering the safety of students and teachers, it is hereby ordered that all the government institutions/government aided colleges under Higher & Technical Education Department, Government of Manipur including state universities in the districts where curfew has been imposed shall remain closed for two days on November 18 and November 19.
