MHA releases notice granting permission to conduct pending Board Exams for Class 10, 12

Home Minister Amit Shah took it to twitter today, i.e. May 20, 2020, to announce that the government has decided to grant exemption from the lockdown measures to conduct the pending Board exam 2020 for classes 10th and 12th that was stopped due to the spread of Covid-19 in the country.

Requests have been sent by the state governments and CBSE for conducting the pending Board exams for class 10th, 12th. The whole matter was examined by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

“Taking into consideration the academic interest of a large number of students, it has been decided to grant exemption from the lockdown measures to conduct Board examination for classes 10th and 12th, with few conditions like social distancing, face mask etc for their safety,” twitted Home Minister Amit Shah.

The Home secretary released a notice today



stating that although the schools have been prevented from starting classes as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus, the govt has decided to allow schools to conduct the remaining class 10th and 12th CBSE board exams.

New Rules for Board Exams:

1. In the containment zone, no exam centre will be permitted.

2. Wear of face mask by teachers, students and staff will be mandatory.

3. There shall be provision for thermal screening and sanitization at the centre and social distancing in all the examination centres.

4. In view of the examination to be conducted by different boards, their examination schedule should be staggered.

5. Special buses may be arranged by the States and UTs for the transportation of the students to the examination centre.
