Hyderabad: A group (30 students Team MJCET) of Mechanical Engineering students from Muffakham Jah College, has developed an ATV (All Terrain Vehicle).It was unveiled at college premises here on Friday. The students built the vehicle in just span of four months. The ATV is powered by a 305cc Briggs & Stratton engine that delivers 10hp power and 14.50Nm of torque. It is fully automated and goes at a top speed of 58kmph.

According to the Team MJCET, the ATV was done with all safety checks and is fit to perform on all terrains. During the test rides the ATV has participated in the events like Drag Race, Solo-Dirt Race, Armageddon Race and Day-Night Blackout Endurance Race. The college management has supported the team with Rs 4.5 lakh in the process to finish the things and help students to fulfill their dreams on the



project. 

Hassan Abdullah, son of Dr Fazal Ullah Mukkarram, Chairman Board of Studies, Osmania University said, "We as a team are very much excited to see our fully produced ATV which is going to compete with the nation-wide colleges and universities including NIIT and IIT during a National Racing Championship Mega ATV-2018 which is to be held from February 24 to 26. We are also thankful to our management and professor Dr Viquar Mahiuddin, Head Of the Department Pro N Seetharamaiah for their timely support and guidance." 


The launch event was flagged off by Janab Khan Mohammed Lateef Khan Saheb, Chairman, Sultan-ul-Uloom Educational Society (SUES) and secretary of SUES Janab Zafar Javeed Saheb. Dr Basheer Ahmed, Direct of Muffakham Jah College Engineering & Technology, K V Narasimha Rao, Registrar and students were also present.
