Iftikhar Ahmed Javed, the head of the madrasa education council, announced on Monday that the Uttar Pradesh Board of Madrasas has begun making plans to offer both modern education and religious instruction.
As per ANI, the chairman remarked that from this year onwards, students at madrasas would also follow the NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training)
curriculum.
Both religious instruction and modern education will be provided, he said.
The upcoming academic year will see UP madrasas placing a greater emphasis on "modern" education.
He said that madrasa children would now be able to learn computers, math, and science.
The new madrasa syllabus will be made public in March.
