The NEET UG exam 2025 will see a major change after four years as the National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided to discontinue the optional questions in section B which were introduced during COVID-19. Candidates who are taking the NEET UG 2025 will no longer have optional questions and extra time. After four years, the NEET exam will return to its pre-covid format.
The additional section which was introduced as optional during COVID-19 to support students was in practice for four years.
For this year, NEET UG 2025 will have 180 compulsory questions with 45 each in physics,
chemistry and 90 in biology. There will be 180 minutes given to students for paper.
As per the National Testing Agency statement, "All NEET (UG), 2025 aspirants are hereby informed that the question paper pattern and examination duration will revert to the pre-covid format where there will not be any Section B for this year".
Hence, there will be a total of 180 compulsory questions (45 questions each in Physics and Chemistry and 90 in Biology) for which the Candidates will have the time of 180 minutes thereby removing any optional questions and extra time introduced due to COVID.
